Treatment of Articular Cartilage Lesion and Meniscal Root Tear

Jason M. Scopp, MD, (Salisbury, MD) presents a case in which he had planned to perform a meniscal root repair and to implant a fresh, precut osteochondral allograft core to treat the articular cartilage. Intraoperatively, the articular lesion was larger than anticipated and Dr. Scopp elected to supplement his planned approach by augmenting the remaining articular lesion with BioCartilage® extracellular matrix. This case highlights the use of fresh osteochondral allografts and the benefits of having BioCartilage extracellular matrix available for many procedures.
